About Coll

Coll lies off the West Coast of Scotland approximately 46 nautical miles out to sea, part of The Inner Hebrides and is reached by a Caledonian McBrayne ferry which operates daily in the summer month from Oban. The ferry's route follows the spectacular Sound of Mull and is a fantastic experience in itself.

If you've ever dreamed of an Island so remote that 'real life' and the mainland become a distant memory - then Coll is the place for you.  It doesn't boast clubs, endless shopping and wild parties every night (though it has it's moments!) and if that's what you're into, then Coll probably wouldn't suit.  However, if you're looking for tranquility, beautiful quiet, safe beaches, friendly locals, good food and drink and time to really relax and unwind then this is the perfect place.  There are 26 beautiful beaches on Coll, each one to be discovered in your own adventure - after 8 years of visiting, we've still only found 8! The local Coll Hotel serves award winning food and is also the local pub. The First Port of Coll Cafe offers great food, a takeaway menu and a shop.  There is also the Island Stores for essentials as well as an Art Gallery and a Post Office.
